Good news: Mural restoration getting traction

A Portland Street Art support group is helping get traction for our restoration project. Their community organizer, Tiffany, presented the restoration project to the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association (SNA). Based on her presentation, they put an article about the project in the most recent edition of their newsletter, which is delivered to about 4,500 Sunnyside addresses. THANK YOU, TIFFANY AND SNA!

Griff Samples, the owner and former resident of the house checked in from Colorado. She is covering out-of-pocket costs for the restoration project. THANK YOU, GRIFF!

The studio space problem has a solution. I've rented a studio/gallery space at the Warehouse 640 building, 640 SE Stark. Warehouse 640 is observing First Friday (1F), the Eastside gallery walk. At least five Warehouse 640 artists will have work up this Friday, 5 April. The studio/gallery space, called "Fundaments" will be open, and showing whatever art I can find to put up, too.

The unmet need at this point is for volunteers willing to get dirty patching and grouting. Watch this space for notice of mural patching parties at Fundaments. There is a link on the right of this blog page for subscribing to this blog via email. That's a good way to be sure you are getting the latest news. KB, 3 April 2013
